After 3 weeks of rest after the Amtrak Century, I'm back! and this time I'm training for the marathon. It is my hope that in completing the distances of a full distance Iron Man (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike
, 26.2 mile run) I will one day achieve my goal of competing in one.
In this blog I will log my mileage and workouts as I train for the Orange County Marathon.

For the next couple of weeks I will be establishing a "base" or in cross country terms, "filling the tank" or "making deposits in the bank" (a race being the withdrawal). I will build my base to about 1000 miles before laying on the harder anaerobic workouts which will help me work on speed and endurance.
